Guanyin Bodhisattva, whose Sanskrit name is Avalokiteśvara, is a significant representative of compassion and salvation in Mahayana Buddhism, also known as Guanshiyin Bodhisattva or Guanzizai Bodhisattva. Important scriptures related to Guanyin include the Lotus Sutra (specifically the Universal Gate Chapter of the Lotus Sutra) and the Heart Sutra. The former recounts Guanyin’s compassionate vows to save sentient beings and manifest according to their needs, while the latter, featuring Guanzizai Bodhisattva, elucidates the emptiness of the five aggregates and the wisdom of Prajna. In Buddhist thought, compassion and wisdom are inseparable; compassion emphasizes helping sentient beings escape suffering, while wisdom helps people understand the root causes of afflictions. This set of bronze Chinese Goddess of Mercy Statues both depict the Bodhisattva in the lotus posture, seated on a double-layered lotus throne.
The figure has a round face, slightly lowered eyes, a red dot on the forehead, a golden crown, and a necklace. The right hand is raised to the chest, and the left hand rests on the legs. Both sculptures are predominantly gold, with red painted details on the collar, the inside of the shawl, and the edges of the folds. The first robe is relatively thick and wide, with dense small lotus petal patterns decorating the upper layer of the lotus pedestal; the second robe has finer folds, and the lotus pedestal uses a two-layered, full lotus petal structure. The overall design of the Chinese Goddess of Mercy Statue is dignified and suitable for Buddhist temples, shrines, and religious culture exhibition spaces. Arturban Statue can customize various buddha statues. Welcome to contact us for more details.
