Jorge Marín is one of the most representative contemporary Mexican sculptors. He was born in Uruapan in 1963 and graduated from the National School of Fine Arts (ENAP). He uses bronze as the main medium and develops a sculptural language that combines classicism and symbolism. He is good at expressing themes such as balance, silence, freedom and spiritual sublimation through the combination of human body, wings, masks and spheres. His representative works “Wings of Mexico” and “El Vigilante Sculpture” are widely seen in public spaces around the world and have become iconic works of contemporary sculpture in Latin America.
This El Vigilante Statue shows a man with wings on his back, squatting on a sphere, with his hands on the sphere between his legs to form a stable support, showing a state of strength and alertness. The figure wears a bird-shaped mask that covers the upper half of his face, enhancing the sense of mystery and symbolism. The wings are spread behind him, and the feather structure is detailed and realistic. The El Vigilante Sculpture is cast in bronze, with a naturally oxidized mottled texture on the surface, giving the sculpture a heavy historical atmosphere. Arturban Statue can customize various replica statues. Welcome to contact us for more details.
