1. Introduction of Buddha Quan Yin Statue
Guanyin Bodhisattva, also known as Avalokiteśvara, is a significant symbol of compassion in Mahayana Buddhism. “Guanyin” means “one who observes the voices of all beings,” embodying her compassionate vow to listen to suffering and help all beings. According to the Lotus Sutra, specifically the Universal Gate Chapter of Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, when beings encounter danger, if they single-mindedly recite the name of Avalokiteśvara Bodhisattva, they can pray for protection. Buddhist scriptures also record that Avalokiteśvara can manifest different forms to teach according to the different natures and needs of beings; this is called “responding to all kinds of beings.” This Buddha Quan Yin Statue depicts her in the lotus position, seated on a double lotus throne.
The figure has a round face, slightly lowered eyes, and a serene expression. She wears a pink-gold crown and multiple layers of necklaces on her chest. Her right hand is raised to her chest, while her left hand rests naturally on her lap. The Guanyin in this Buddha Quan Yin Statue wears a pink shawl with red inner garments. The robe is predominantly brown and gold, with dense floral and scroll patterns adorning the knees. The upper lotus pedestal features green and gold lotus petals, while the lower pedestal is decorated with blue, brownish-red, and gold patterns.
