“Cosmos” is a large-scale stainless steel public art sculpture designed by artists Jason Kelly Johnson and Nataly Gattegno. It is located on the Intuitive Surgical campus in Sunnyvale, California. Constructed of mirrored stainless steel, the Tree Sculpture for Garden takes on the form of a highly abstract “tree”: its trunk is supported by multiple metal pillars, and its crown radiates outward like a canopy, forming a dome that provides shade. The sculpture’s form draws inspiration from the Fibonacci sequence and origami structures found in nature, blending modern mathematics with architectural language.
Each “leaf” of the Giant Tree Sculpture is composed of diamond-shaped stainless steel panels arranged in a geometric pattern resembling petals. When illuminated by sunlight, it casts a shimmering, dappled shadow like a curtain of light. The sculpture’s dazzling reflections during the day and illuminated at night create a dreamlike effect. This Tree Sculpture for Garden serves not only as a functional sunshade but also as a landmark artwork, creating a unique visual focal point for the campus’ open space. Arturban Statue can customize various stainless steel statues. Welcome to contact us for more details.
