1. Introduction of Statue of Anonymous
The Anonymus Statue, located near Wojdács Castle in Budapest City Park, Hungary, depicts the anonymous author of the medieval historical work Gesta Hungarorum. Because his real name has not been confirmed, he is generally referred to as Anonymus. The sculpture, created by Hungarian artist Miklós Ligeti, depicts a figure wearing a wide hood, his face obscured by the brim, holding a pen symbolizing writing and historical record-keeping. This bronze replica of the Statue of Anonymous retains the original’s typical seated posture, hood, robe, and heavy chair structure.
The figure’s arms rest naturally on the armrests, his body leaning slightly back. Layered robes cover his legs and drape to the base, giving the overall figure a serene and dignified appearance.
