Julian Voss-Andreae is a contemporary artist born in Germany with a background in physics. He later moved to the United States to create sculptures. In his early years, he studied quantum physics at the University of Vienna, and then entered the Pacific Northwest College of Art to study art, ingeniously combining scientific logic with visual language. His sculptures are centered on the human body, often using stainless steel sheets cut longitudinally to form abstract images, emphasizing the observation angle, perspective relationship and the “visible-invisible” state transformation of the body, representing the cross-border integration of science and philosophy in modern art. This Kneeling Woman Sculpture, named “Spannungsfeld”, is one of a group of human body art works he created in 2014 and is placed outside the Center for Physics and Nanotechnology at the University of Minnesota.
The Steel Woman Sculpture is made of stainless steel, and consists of multiple metal plates arranged longitudinally to form a kneeling female image. The overall posture is natural and stable, with the figure kneeling on the ground with both knees and hands resting on the thighs. The facial contour is simple and abstract, and the body structure is clearly expressed through slices. When standing directly in front of the sculpture, there is a strong sense of visual penetration, with the background light passing through the gaps between the figures, as if the Kneeling Woman Sculpture is looming in the space; when viewed from the side, the figure appears complete and powerful. Arturban Statue can customize various stainless steel statues. Welcome to contact us for more details.
