1. Introduction of Camel with Rider Statue
This Arab and Camel Sculpture depicts a brief stop during a journey through the Middle Eastern desert, consisting of a camel and three figures. The camel in this Camel with Rider Statue stands on rocky ground, its back laden with a thick blanket, bundles, pottery jars, and a long pole, conveying the burden of a long journey. A figure wearing a long robe and a turban sits on the camel’s back, bowing to receive a water jug; in front, another figure stands on a rock, close to the camel, holding a container in one hand, as if offering water to the rider. Beside the camel’s head, another figure in a long robe rests against the camel’s neck, completing the scene of a journey and rest.
The sculpture’s details are concentrated on the camel’s loads, the figures’ clothing, and the act of offering water. The blanket on the camel’s back features patterns and tassels, while the bundles, pottery jars, ropes, and long pole enhance the atmosphere of a merchant journey.
