1.Introduction of aristide maillol sculpture
This is the aristide maillol sculpture. Aristide Maillol is a French sculptor. The River is one of a series of sculptures in which
he compares nature with a woman’s body. This is the work of Mayor in his later years, and like his previous works, the theme of
“River” is also expressed through a plump, robust, and rounded female body. She lay on her side, her legs naturally bending forward
and backward, her right hand slightly upward, her neck and head hanging down almost in a straight line, her expression joyful and
intoxicated. She has plump breasts, a strong abdomen, thick thighs, and thick hair. The woman is not a slender and delicate female
figure at all, but a figure like the mother of the earth with infinite reproductive ability, like a surging river full of healthy beauty.
The author did not meticulously depict the veins of the muscles, but instead used a large curved and graceful appearance, combined
with natural light illumination, to demonstrate the elastic strength of the muscles, resulting in a rough and smooth body line. There
