1. Introduction of Anjali Mudra Buddha Statue
Shakyamuni Buddha, originally named Siddhartha Gautama, was the founder of Buddhism. “Shakyamuni” means “Sage of the Shakya clan.” Traditional accounts state that he was born into the Shakya royal family of ancient India, later leaving court life to practice asceticism and attain enlightenment, thus proposing teachings on suffering, impermanence, dependent origination, compassion, and liberation. This set of Anjali Mudra Buddha sculptures depicts Shakyamuni Buddha seated in meditation with hands clasped in prayer.
The Buddha in the Large Sitting Buddha Statue sits cross-legged on a lotus throne, hands clasped at his chest, his posture dignified and serene, conveying a sense of prayer, reverence, and focused meditation. Both stone Buddha statues possess typical Buddhist features such as spiral curls, a topknot, long earlobes, and slightly lowered eyes, with a peaceful facial expression. The first design features a light gray stone texture and a simple, natural shape, making it suitable for display in garden lawns, courtyard corners, and near water features. The second design of the Anjali Mudra Buddha sculpture has been distressed to create an antique stone effect, with more layers in the clothing patterns, lotus base, and facial details, making it suitable for use in meditation spaces, Buddhist halls, temple landscapes, or oriental-style courtyards.
