1. Introduction of Bronze Horse and Rider
This Mountain Man Bronze Sculpture depicts a scene from Rancheret’s 1881 work, Arab Downhill, featuring an armed Arab rider descending a hill. The work uses the rider’s clothing, weapons, mount, and rugged terrain to create an atmosphere of frontier travel and vigilance. This Bronze Horse and Rider statue captures the moment the horse’s center of gravity shifts as it descends, establishing a close connection between rider, horse, and rocky slope.
The rider wears a wide-brimmed hat, his face partially obscured by a shawl and folds of clothing, and a heavy robe. A long spear is slung across his back. The horse is moving down the rocky slope, seemingly cautiously searching for footholds. The saddle, reins, breastplate, and drapery are all detailed. The cloak falls naturally from the shoulders, the spear extends diagonally, and the horse’s rump, tail, and saddle structure are clearly defined. | Step 6: Patina and wax surface | We will paint the color as the image the customer sent, then make wax surface. When finished statue, also I will take photos for your reference. After you are satisfied with all, I will arrange packing and shipment. |
