1. Introduction of Arab Bust
Max Arthur Waagen, also commonly spelled Arthur Waagen, was one of the most recognizable artists of 19th-century European Orientalist sculpture. Born in East Prussia, he spent much of his life in Paris, and his works often depicted animals, hunting figures, and North African subjects. The 19th-century European art market had a strong interest in Arab, Berber, North African hunters, and figures in exotic costumes, and Waagen created a large number of works with Orientalist characteristics against this backdrop. This Arab Bust depicts an Arab man.
The figure wears a layered turban, has a curly beard, and gazes sideways with a slight upturn at the corners of his mouth, conveying a vivid and characterful expression. The turban falls from his forehead to the side of his face, with the fabric’s folds and texture clearly depicted. The piece is made of bronze, with a contrast between the dark color of the figure’s face and the lighter tone of the turban. | Step 5: Repair, welding & Chasing | We will repair the hole of statue, then welding and chasing, which is the key step to make fine high quality statue. |
| Step 6: Patina and wax surface | We will paint the color as the image the customer sent, then make wax surface. When finished statue, also I will take photos for your reference. After you are satisfied with all, I will arrange packing and shipment. |
