This sculpture is a reproduction of Bertel Thorvaldsen’s masterpiece Christus, a representative work of the Danish Neoclassical sculptor, presenting a typical image of Christ’s blessing. The figure of the Thorvaldsen Statue of Christ stands barefoot on a pedestal, arms naturally outstretched, palms slightly forward, forming an open and inclusive posture—a gesture derived from the original work’s symbolic expression of “welcome and redemption.” The facial features continue Neoclassical characteristics: symmetrical and well-proportioned features, long hair parted in the middle and falling naturally, a clearly defined beard, and an overall calm and restrained expression.
In the Bertel Thorvaldsen Jesus Statue, the clothing is a single-sided robe structure, diagonally covering the chest from the left shoulder and extending to the back. Large folds converge downwards in flowing curves, forming continuous vertical folds at the waist and legs. The cape-like fabric at the back is wider, with heavy edges. Unlike the original Christus, which is commonly found in church spaces, this Thorvaldsen Statue of Christ version adds kneeling prayer angels on both sides, making the overall piece more decorative and narrative, suitable for display in courtyards or religious spaces. Arturban Statue can customize various christian statues. Welcome to contact us for more details.
