1. Introduction of The American Horse Sculpture

The American Horse is a significant reconstruction based on the unfinished colossal equestrian sculpture by Renaissance master Leonardo da Vinci, completed by American sculptor Nina Akamu in the late 20th century. Standing approximately 7.3 meters tall, the American Horse Sculpture, now located in Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park, was unveiled in 1999. Its design fully incorporates da Vinci’s research on equine anatomy, biomechanical balance, and dynamic structure.

The da vinci horse sculpture depicts a walking posture with one foreleg raised, its overall size grand yet proportionally harmonious. The torso is thick and full, the chest broad, and the hindquarters muscular and powerful; the neck is high and arched forward, the head slightly lowered, creating a controlled and elegant dynamic. The mane is arranged in curly, layered patterns. The limbs are clearly structured, emphasizing the relationship between weight-bearing and stability, maintaining visual balance despite its massive size. 2. Production Process of The American Horse Sculpture

1. Confirming the details drawing/ 3D mold/ Pictures with clients.
2. Making clay mold according to drawing/ client’s photos/ 3D mold.
3. Lost-Wax casting bronze/brass statues.
4. Welding and Chasing. It is very key step for high-quality sculpture.
5. Patina and wax surface, take all different views pictures/ videos, show to clients.
6. Packing into wooden cases after clients are satisfied with sculptures.
