1. Introduction of Suzanne Sculpture
This bronze sculpture, created in 1874 by the French sculptor Étienne Henri Dumaige, is titled Suzanne surprise au bain, meaning “Suzanne startled while bathing.” Suzanne is a common figure in Western religious and classical art, depicting her being startled while bathing in a garden, and her dignified and resolute defense of her purity. The Suzanne Sculpture captures this moment, portraying the figure as a seated woman, her body slightly turned to one side, head bowed and looking back, arms protectively crossed over her chest, conveying emotions of shyness, vigilance, and self-protection.
The Bathing Woman Statue is made of bronze. The figure’s robe is partially draped, with folds naturally overlapping at the knees, waist, and edge of the chair, creating rich, classical drapery layers. The exposed shoulders and back, curly braids, and delicate facial features are meticulously depicted. The base of the Suzanne Sculpture features columns, animal heads, and decorative borders. Overall, it is both a narrative sculpture based on a biblical theme and an artistic bronze ornament suitable for display in a study, on a fireplace mantel, or in a classical space. | Step 4: Casting | We will use advanced lost wax casting technology to cast bronze or brass. |
| Step 5: Repair, welding & Chasing | We will repair the hole of statue, then welding and chasing, which is the key step to make fine high quality statue. |
| Step 6: Patina and wax surface | We will paint the color as the image the customer sent, then make wax surface. When finished statue, also I will take photos for your reference. After you are satisfied with all, I will arrange packing and shipment. |
