King Khafre was a pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty of Ancient Egypt, reigning from approximately 2558 to 2532 BC. He was the son of the renowned Khufu, renowned for building the second pyramid at Giza and often considered the master of the Great Sphinx. Khafre symbolized the stability and sanctity of royal power in ancient Egyptian history. His reign continued the splendor of the architectural complex at Giza and established the dynasty’s religious and political authority. This statue of King Khafre, cast in bronze, exudes a solid texture and a solemn and majestic aura.
The Pharaoh Sculpture is painted in a dark color. The pharaoh wears a typical Nemes turban. A carved image of the sacred serpent Uraeus, symbolizing royal power, occupies the center of his forehead. He gazes forward with a solemn and stern expression. His torso is sleek, his body erect, his arms tucked close to his body, fists clenched. The skirt of the Statue of King Khafre features distinct layers of diagonal carving. Hieroglyphics are inscribed on the base and the supporting stone at the back.
