1. Introduction of Roman Wall Fountain
This group of fountain sculptures is a typical example of ancient Roman-style wall fountains, built upon the architectural facade, with a dignified and layered overall composition. The Roman Wall Fountains employ a clear central axial symmetry structure, orderly combining figures, animals, and decorative motifs.
The first piece is a large architectural wall fountain with a semi-circular pool at its base. The wall decoration is clearly layered: the central section features a classical mask (Mascaron) as the visual focal point, surrounded by plant motifs; two lion head reliefs are symmetrically distributed on either side of the upper part of the wall, serving as typical architectural decorative lion heads; a lion sculpture flanks the lower pool, echoing the upper lion heads. The pediment at the top is decorated with Putti (infant figures), adding liveliness and balance to the dignified structure.
The second piece is a column-style Wall Mounted Lion Head Fountain, composed of a decorative back panel, a bowl-shaped basin, and sculpted columns. The central back panel also uses a lion head relief as the visual focal point, while the upper Putti and decorative moldings continue the classical style, and the lower columns are engraved with plant and animal motifs.
