Gayle Hermick is a Canadian artist specializing in large-scale public sculptures using stainless steel. Her works often combine science, language, and philosophy through naturally flowing forms, exploring humanity’s ongoing quest for knowledge and the universe. One of her signature works is the large-scale Knowledge Sculpture “Wandering the Immeasurable,” installed at the headquarters of the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). This sculptural work depicts humanity’s shared wisdom and cross-cultural exchange in scientific exploration.
“Wandering the Immeasurable” is composed of a single stainless steel ribbon, intricately bent and twisted to form a spiraling three-dimensional structure. Inscribed on its surface are scientific formulas and historical discoveries in over 20 languages, from Einstein’s theory of relativity to Mendeleev’s periodic table, showcasing humanity’s exploration of the laws of nature across civilizations. The stainless steel material imbues the Knowledge Sculpture with a contemporary feel. Arturban Statue can customize various stainless steel statues. Welcome to contact us for more details.
