1. Introduction of Claire Colinet Salome Sculpture
Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet (1880–1950) was a Belgian-born female sculptor who later developed her career in France. She is considered one of the most important figures in Art Deco sculpture of the first half of the 20th century. Art Deco, which emerged in the 1920s and 1930s, emphasized flowing lines, geometric beauty, modernity, and exquisite ornamentation. Colinet was particularly adept at incorporating these characteristics into her female figure sculptures. Salome, a character from the New Testament, has been continuously interpreted in European literature, painting, opera, and stage art.
