Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, is related to Dionysus in Greek mythology and is considered a symbol of grapes, feasts, revelry, and vitality. In Roman culture, Bacchus was not only the protector of wine but also embodied the spirit of freedom, passion, and emotional liberation. Michelangelo Bacchus Statue, created in 1496–1497, is renowned for its intoxicated posture, complex dynamic balance, and delicate depiction of the human form. The Bacchus Bronze Sculpture shown here replicates Michelangelo’s original, reinterpreting the god’s tipsy state.
In the Bacchus Bronze Sculpture, Bacchus stands barefoot, his body slightly leaning back, as if losing his balance, expressing a hazy, intoxicated state. His right hand holds a wine cup high, his gaze unfocused and dreamy, with grape leaves and grapes adorning his curly hair. His left hand holds an animal skin and a bunch of grapes about to slip. Beside him, a playful satyr child is biting into grapes. The bronze material gives the piece an antique and historical feel, making it very suitable as an indoor display or garden decorative art piece. Arturban Statue can customize various greek and roman mythology statues. Welcome to contact us for more details.
