This fountain sculpture, titled “Fountain of Venus,” is a typical 19th-century European sculptural fountain work, created by the renowned French sculptor Mathurin Moreau and completed around 1866. It is currently located in Alameda Central Park in Mexico City, Mexico. The entire Aphrodite Water Fountain is cast in bronze. The theme of the sculpture is “Venus Anadyomene,” depicting the classic moment of the goddess’s birth from the sea.
In the Aphrodite Water Fountain, she stands atop an open seashell, her body slightly leaning forward, one hand adjusting her long hair, the other hanging naturally at her side, her posture elegant and composed, showcasing idealized human proportions and graceful lines. The base below is composed of rich marine elements, including waves, fish, and surrounding Cupid figures. These dynamic details contrast sharply with the tranquility of the main subject, enhancing the overall sense of depth and visual tension, while reinforcing the mythological image of “birth from the sea.” Arturban Statue can customize various greek and roman statues.
