1. Introduction of African Warrior Sculpture
Karl Hagenauer (1898-1956) was a prominent decorative arts designer from Vienna, Austria. Born into a family of metalworkers, he was a key figure in Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien. His work was heavily influenced by Art Deco, Viennese workshops, and modernist forms, often featuring figures, animals, dancers, and African subjects. Hagenauer’s sculptures typically did not pursue realistic detail, but rather expressed posture, rhythm, and decorative beauty through slender proportions, rounded heads, simplified facial features, and flowing limbs. This African Warrior Sculpture depicts an African warrior holding a spear and carrying a shield.
The figure in the African Warrior Sculpture is made of bronze, with a slender form. The forward-stepping gait gives the sculpture a dynamic sense of movement. The feathered headdress extends backward, the grass skirt at the waist adds textural depth, and the shield and spear reinforce the tribal warrior’s identity. | Step 5: Repair, welding & Chasing | We will repair the hole of statue, then welding and chasing, which is the key step to make fine high quality statue. |
| Step 6: Patina and wax surface | We will paint the color as the image the customer sent, then make wax surface. When finished statue, also I will take photos for your reference. After you are satisfied with all, I will arrange packing and shipment. |
