1. Introduction of big bell church
This large church bronze bell employs a traditional Western bell structure, with a tall and imposing overall proportion. The upper part of the bell tapers slightly, gradually widening downwards to form a wide, flared mouth at the base. The top is secured to the bell frame by large metal connectors, accommodating the large bell’s hanging capacity. Two concentric rings of relief are set along the bell’s shoulders; the upper ring features groups of figures, while the lower ring comprises multiple religious narrative scenes, densely detailed yet orderly arranged. The front of the big bell church is inscribed with the Latin inscription “ANGELUS DOMINI NUNTIAVIT MARIAE,” related to the Catholic tradition of the Annunciation and Angelus prayer.
The main surface of the bronze bell is free of excessive ornamentation, allowing the relief figures, the Latin inscription, and the large bell itself to be the primary visual elements. The lower half maintains a large, flat surface, with several horizontal raised lines added near the mouth.
