1. Introduction of St Andrew the Apostle Statue
St. Andrew the Apostle was one of the twelve apostles of Jesus and the brother of the apostle Peter. According to the New Testament, he originally lived near the Sea of Galilee, making a living by fishing, and later became one of the earliest disciples to follow Jesus, thus often referred to in Christian tradition as “the first called one.” Later tradition holds that he traveled to the eastern Mediterranean and the Black Sea coast to spread the gospel, ultimately being martyred in Patras, Greece. This large bronze St Andrew the Apostle Statue depicts St. Andrew as a tall, elderly apostle.
