1. Introduction of Buddha Abhaya Mudra Statue
This sculpture depicts a seated Buddha, seated cross-legged on a double lotus pedestal, exuding a serene and dignified presence. The right hand in the Buddha Abhaya Mudra Statue is raised, palm facing outward, in the Abhaya Mudra, a common feature in Buddhist iconography, symbolizing comfort, protection, the elimination of fear, and the granting of inner peace. The left hand forms the Varada Mudra, symbolizing compassion, bestowing blessings, and responding to the wishes of all beings. The Buddha’s eyes are slightly lowered, his facial expression peaceful, and his head features neatly styled spiral hair, a ushnisha (cranial protuberance), and long earlobes.
This bronze Seated Buddha Statue features detailed depictions of the drapery, hand gestures, lotus pedestal, and the edges of the robe. The upper garment is rendered with layered lines, with decorative patterns on the chest and details on the cuffs adding depth and dimension. The lotus pedestal consists of two layers of petals.
