1. Introduction of Emmanuel Villanis Sculpture
Emmanuel Villanis (1858-1914) was a French sculptor active from the late 19th to the early 20th century, renowned for his Art Nouveau female subjects and bronze figure sculptures. Born in Lille, France, he received his art training in Turin, Italy, resulting in works that combine the graceful lines of French Art Deco with the realistic foundations of Italian academic sculpture. This Emmanuel Villanis Sculpture is titled L’Otage, meaning “hostage” or “prisoner.”
The work, in bronze, depicts a young woman bound to a tree stump. Her arms are tied behind her back, her body slightly turned, and her robe drapes from her shoulders to her feet. Her expression is serene yet melancholic. The details of the tree stump, ropes, and rocks and roots at the base echo the theme of “L’Otage.” The Emmanuel Villanis Sculpture has an antique bronze patina with highlights of golden brown in certain areas, adding depth to the folds of her clothing, hair, and facial contours. | Step 5: Repair, welding & Chasing | We will repair the hole of statue, then welding and chasing, which is the key step to make fine high quality statue. |
| Step 6: Patina and wax surface | We will paint the color as the image the customer sent, then make wax surface. When finished statue, also I will take photos for your reference. After you are satisfied with all, I will arrange packing and shipment. |
