1. Introduction of Tung Tung Sahur Statue
The “Tung Tung Sahur” wooden figure originates from Southeast Asian, particularly Indonesian, folk customs and internet culture. “Sahur” refers to the morning mealtime during Ramadan, while “Tung Tung” mimics a striking sound, stemming from the traditional practice of waking others by striking wooden objects or drums in the morning. In the internet context, this image has gradually been anthropomorphized, evolving into a figure holding a wooden stick and responsible for “waking” others. This Tung Tung Sahur Statue is a three-dimensional recreation of the “Tung Tung Sahur” wooden figure.
