1. Introduction of Emperor Commodus Statue
Commodus (161-192 AD), full name Lucius Aurelius Commodus, was the son of Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius and the last ruler of the Five Good Emperors. He was made co-emperor at a young age and officially assumed sole power at 19. Unlike his father, who emphasized rationality, responsibility, and philosophical rule, Commodus was more enthusiastic about personality cults, entertainment, and competition, especially gladiator performances. He frequently appeared in public as a gladiator, claiming to be the incarnation of Hercules, attempting to consolidate imperial power through deification.
