1. Introduction of Commodus as Hercules Sculpture

Commodus (161–192 AD) was a Roman emperor who ascended the throne in 180 AD, the son of Marcus Aurelius. During the later years of his reign, he frequently reinforced the symbolism of imperial power through his personal image, particularly favoring the association with Hercules, and using heroic symbols such as lion skins and clubs in public ceremonies and artistic depictions. Commodus was assassinated at the end of 192 AD, having reigned for approximately twelve years. This Commodus as Hercules Sculpture is a bust.

The figure wears a lion skin headdress, with clearly defined lion ears and mouth; the face features short, curly hair and a thick beard, with a three-dimensional depiction of the nose, brow ridges, and eye sockets. The shoulders are covered with a shawl and decorative shoulder guards, and knots and pleats are visible on the chest. The entire piece is finished with a bronze antique treatment, giving it an aged look with a transition between dark green and brown. The Commodus as Hercules Sculpture is connected to a circular pedestal structure and sits on a black stone-patterned square base, making it suitable for indoor display, showcase, or placement in culturally themed spaces. Arturban Statue can customize various greek and roman statues. Welcome to contact us for more details.
