1. Introduction of Bust of Lady
Simone Bianco was a Renaissance sculptor active in Venice, Italy in the 16th century. He was born around 1480/1490 and died after 1553. His artistic style was deeply influenced by classical aesthetics and humanistic thought. He was particularly good at creating marble busts of aristocratic portraits, showing highly idealized facial features and restrained emotional expression. This Bust of Lady – Nicolo Molin’s Wife, was created around 1540 and is made of delicate marble. It is one of Bianco’s representative portraits.
The Female Head Bust shows the image of a Venetian noblewoman: the woman has a calm, dignified and reserved expression, with slightly drooping eyes and a full face. She wears a flower-shaped ornament on her head, her hair is tied up high, and her clothes are the popular shawl-style robes of the time. The folds are natural and smooth, and the details are finely carved, showing the elegance and rational temperament of aristocratic women.
